Eight casinos on the Las Vegas Strip are planning a coordinated fireworks show as part of Sin City’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration.

Officials said Wednesday that more than 56,000 effects will light up the sky as part of a nearly 9-minute show featuring a medley of songs including LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem.”

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman says it doesn’t get any better than celebrating the new year in Las Vegas.

Tourism officials at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority say they expect 315,000 people to celebrate the milestone in Las Vegas.

Fremont Street Experience and Fremont Street East also plan celebrations downtown.

Eight casinos will be used as firing locations: Tropicana Las Vegas, MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, the Venetian and the Stratosphere.
