Labor, delivery nurses earn certification

Chandler Regional Medical Center, a member of Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), has announced that 100 percent of its labor and delivery nurses have received a certificate of added qualification in electronic fetal monitoring through the National Certification Corporation, a non-profit organization that oversees the development, administration and evaluation of a program for certification in obstetric, gynecologic and neo-natal nursing specialties.

Eighty-three labor and delivery nurses received this advanced certification, which required that nurses pass a rigorous examination and have at least 2,000 hours of experience in their respective field.

To maintain this certification, the nurses must complete 15 continuing education units over a three-year period.
