Mark Bonsall will succeed Richard “Dick” Silverman as the general manager of SRP, the Valley’s largest provider of water and electricity.
SRP’s board of directors made the announcement Tuesday. Bonsall, 58, will assume the responsibilities of general manager in August. He is currently SRP’s chief financial executive and associate general manager of Commercial and Customer Services.
In February, Silverman announced his plans to retire in August, marking his 45th anniversary with SRP.
SRP is the third-largest public power utility in the nation, serving more than 940,000 customers in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
