You needn’t have subjected your stuffed animals to tea parties as a child to enjoy Ballet Etude’s Nutcracker Sweet Tea with your own kiddos.

A prelude to the local dance company’s beloved annual Nutcracker holiday production, it’s a chance to delve into a smorgasbord — edible and visual — reminiscent of the famous ballet’s enchanting “Land of Sweets.”

Aside from treats to sip and eat, families will decorate cookies, join storytime and see an up-close performance by the dancers. And it all takes place at one of the East Valley’s most charming venues: The Wright House, a storybook-ish cottage with lush gardens that’s a feast for the eyes.

DETAILS >> Seatings are at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at The Wright House, 636 W. University Drive, Mesa. $15 per person or $13 per person for groups of 20 or more. For tickets, call (480) 221-3391 or email
