The city of Phoenix Volunteer Program is seeking volunteers to make a difference in the lives of seniors and those seeking employment by helping out this summer in the following ways at senior centers and at the “Workforce Access Point” at Ocotillo Branch Library:

• Senior Center Educational Assistant — Volunteers are needed to help teach seniors how to stay connected to vital senior center services and activities using a new, computer-based system.

• Senior Center Recreation Assistant — Volunteers will plan creative, fun and active opportunities for seniors such as special interest classes and special social events.

• Workforce Access Point Assistants — Volunteers are needed to staff a “one stop” job readiness center to help residents with a variety of workforce needs, including creating resumes and cover letters and providing referrals to other agencies.

Additional information about these and other volunteer opportunities, as well as volunteer registration, is available at myvolunteerphoenix.org.
