Tempe police Detective Tim Barber died from prostate cancer last month at age 42. He was diagnosed two years ago, and although doctors were able to treat it into remission the cancer returned in January and spread throughout his body. Organizers of “Tim’s Team” walking for Barber are hoping this year they can go beyond its 100 members that participated in the prostate walk for him two years ago.
