The Prostate On-site Project Walk will be at Tempe Kiwanis Park on Saturday, bringing cancer awareness to men 40 and older.

The walk will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the park, 6111 All-America Way.

Registration will begin an hour prior to the walk. The cost to participate is $20 for ages 12 and up and $15 for 12 and younger. For more information, call (480) 964-3013.

Tempe police Detective Tim Barber died from prostate cancer last month at age 42. He was diagnosed two years ago, and although doctors were able to treat it into remission the cancer returned in January and spread throughout his body. Organizers of “Tim’s Team” walking for Barber are hoping this year they can go beyond its 100 members that participated in the prostate walk for him two years ago.
