Chamber Golf Tournament 2011

The Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce offers many opportunities to build stronger business relationships at our signature events, luncheons and networking mixers. The chamber recognizes the importance of our role in supporting our local community and other surrounding areas. Our events and activities promote employment and economic growth due to the incredible amount of networks that are formed between residents and nearby businesses.

The 15th Annual Chamber Masters Golf Tournament will take place on Friday, April 13 at Foothills Golf Club, 2201 E. Clubhouse Drive. Our Golf Committee is busy putting the final touches on this year’s golf tournament, which promises to be another high-energy event attended by more than 150 golfers and guests. The tournament is our signature fundraising event for Ahwatukee’s Red, White and Boom community fireworks.

Red, White and Boom is a 37-year tradition for our community and the wonderful families we have living here. This year’s fireworks will be on Tuesday, July 3 at the Ahwatukee Country Club, 12432 S. 48th St. We rely on the generosity of our business community to help us provide a family event so that everyone is able to work, shop and play where they live. This is why having the Red, White and Boom Fireworks display in our own backyard is so important.

As a sponsor or donor, you can positively impact Red, White and Boom, and the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce would be honored to have you involved. Here’s how you can help:

• Become an event sponsor.

• Donate an item to our auction or raffle.

• Register a team to play in the tournament.

Why not be a part of your Village, an essential component to your community? When you have an emotional investment in the community you live in you are more likely to care about and invest your time and efforts in improving it.

Together we can make Ahwatukee the best place in the Valley to live. Academically, the term “sense of community” means: “a feeling members have of belonging, a feeling that members matter to one another and the group, and a shared faith that member’s needs will be met through their commitment to be together.”

In partnership with the Ahwatukee Foothills News, the chamber invites you to learn more about our events and programs at our “Main Street Ahwatukee” launch party on April 11. The Main Street Ahwatukee program is an economic development initiative led by the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Ahwatukee Foothills News. This special section appears twice a month in the Sunday AFN and provides a service to help highlight and support the growth of chamber business members. Our goal is to help the community discover new and favorite neighborhood merchants.

The launch event will take place at the Ahwatukee Foothills News, 10631 S. 51st St., Suite 1, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided and prizes include a set of four club level Arizona Diamondbacks tickets (with parking pass), a two-month ad schedule within the Main Street Ahwatukee section, and an annual Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce membership.

Community engagement inherently creates communities who take pride and self responsibility for what goes on in their neighborhood and its outside appearance. So what are you waiting for? Get involved with the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce today!
