The Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa will host the West Valley’s newest bridal show for those planning weddings in the upcoming year.

At this event, brides and grooms planning weddings during 2011 will have an opportunity to meet and consult with vendors for wedding and bridal related services such as photographers, musicians, florists, cake and food specialists, formal wear vendors and more.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Solana Ballroom at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa, in Westgate City Center. Entry to the Bridal Show is $5. All active duty military service members will receive complimentary admission with their military ID.

“Not only is this an opportunity for those planning weddings to meet with vendors, but a chance for us to showcase our hotel as a wedding venue,” said Joy Rosek, Catering Sales Manager for the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa.  “We’ll be giving tours of our beautiful hotel, which is capable of catering weddings of all sizes, from 10 to 1,000 people or more. In addition to your wedding ceremony and reception, our hotel can also accommodate rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, engagement parties, farewell breakfasts and other wedding-related events.”

Several special promotions, contests and events will be held throughout the Bridal Show, including:

  • Complimentary On-Site Wedding Ceremonies. This event will have a Minister/Officiant present for those looking to get married on the day of the event at no charge. There are a limited amount of wedding slots available, and are available on a first-come-first-served basis, as each ceremony is approximately 15 minutes long. Marrying couple must have valid driver’s licenses and a valid marriage license.  Limit of up to 20 guests in attendance. Three complimentary photos are provided, however, photographers will be available for additional photos, paid for by the couple. Military couples will receive preference for on-site wedding ceremonies.
  • A “Gown Grab” promotion, similar to the “Running of the Brides” event in various locations throughout the nation, will be conducted at the Bridal Show. Hosted by gown retailer Almond Tree Wedding Boutique, hundreds of new or gently used designer gowns will be available for deep discounts (prices start under $300), and alteration and fitting services will be available on-site. Expected to draw hundreds of brides, gown prices are slashed dramatically to help brides acquire their dream dress without spending their entire wedding budget on the gown alone.
  • Brides and grooms will also be able to compete in a Wedding Cake Eating Contest, with winners receiving prizes valued up to $600. Brides and grooms-to-be may also view a Bridal Party Fashion Show hosted by Mr. Formal and Almond Tree Wedding Boutique, featuring the latest in wedding gown and tuxedo styles for the new wedding season.

While tickets and admission can be purchased at the door on the day of the event, attendees are encouraged to register for the Bridal Show by e-mailing RegisterRenaissance@gmail.com. Registrants will receive early access to the show at 10:30 a.m., allowing for one-on-one consultations with the vendors.
