Arizona pharmacists would be allowed to fill most prescriptions issued by foreign doctors.

Current law already covers orders written by a doctor licensed by the appropriate board from Mexico or Canada. SB 1337 expands that to cover any foreign country.

The legislation does have limits, including a prohibition on pharmacists filling foreign prescriptions for certain controlled substances. The measure, given preliminary House approval Tuesday, goes to the governor after a final roll-call vote.
