The Wigwam invites guests to fall in love and make some history of their own at the newly rejuvenated West Valley resort this Valentine’s Day with arts, dining and sports experiences for both couples and families.

Featuring 400 acres of recreation, The Wigwam will celebrate Valentine’s Day with four days of sweetheart fun for all ages. Enjoy an afternoon of fine art on The Wigwam’s front lawn while listening to live musicians, or meet up with friends for a game of doubles at the Matchmaker’s Tennis Tournament.

Guests who want to test their culinary skills can whip up dishes enhanced with aphrodisiacs at the Sweetheart Cooking Class inside Litchfield’s, the resort’s new signature restaurant. A family brunch, golf specials, the opportunity to win a free Valentine’s Day giveaway and more will also be offered.

Open to the public, The Wigwam will have the following Valentine’s Day experiences:

• Valentine’s Getaway Contest: Contest ends at noon Friday.

Surprise your sweetheart by entering The Wigwam’s Valentine’s Getaway Contest. The winner receives a romantic overnight Valentine’s Day weekend package, which includes Cerreta chocolates and champagne upon arrival, dinner for two at Litchfield’s and breakfast in bed for two. Each entry also receives a complimentary dessert for two at Litchfield’s (valid after Feb. 14). • Wigwam Festival of Fine Arts: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 11 through 13. Free event.

Discover the talents of the Southwest’s fine artists and craftsmen in an outdoor gallery on The Wigwam’s front lawn, featuring award-winning Western and Native American artists from across the Southwest. Festival highlights include live musical performances, wine tasting, al fresco dining and art. Daily performances will feature “One Tribe, Many Fires” by internationally acclaimed Native American flute player/violinist Arvel Bird and four-time world champion hoop dancer Tony Duncan and the Yellow Bird Dancers.

• Cocktails & Chocolates: 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 11 through Feb. 13. Cost is $20 per person.

Stop by all weekend to savor the Valley’s finest start or end to any meal with an array of libations and chocolates at the new, ultra-hip Wigwam Bar. Sample two signature Valentine’s Day cocktails such as a “Chocolate Rose” made with strawberry and chocolate liqueurs or “Cupid’s Arrow” mixed with vanilla vodka and crème de cacao, each served with homemade chocolate truffles. 

• Sweetheart Cooking Class: 1 p.m. Feb. 12. Cost is $55 per person.

Join new Chef de Cuisine Brian Cooper as he heats things up in the kitchen at Litchfield’s, The Wigwam’s new signature restaurant. During this interactive cooking lesson, guests will prepare a three-course meal with aphrodisiac ingredients. Class includes three-course tasting, drink pairings and recipes. Reservations are required.  

• Forever Yours Family Brunch: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 13 Cost is $29 for adults, $14 for children.

Gather loved ones for a decadent family brunch at Red Allen’s, overlooking The Wigwam’s three golf courses. The brunch features grilled lamb chops, herb-crusted New York strip loin, a chef’s omelet station and refreshing fruit martinis. Top it off with a selection of Cupid’s indulgences for dessert.

• Matchmaker’s Tennis Tournament: 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 12. Cost is $20 per person.

Enjoy a round-robin mixed doubles tournament at The Wigwam’s nine-court tennis facility. Following the tournament, mix and mingle with other players at a reception featuring appetizers and refreshments. Entry fee includes tournament, tennis balls and access to the reception. Reservations are required.

• Two for One Tee Times: Feb. 12 through 14. Cost is $99 per couple.

Ladies golf for free when they play a round with the special love of their life. Choose from the resort’s three parkland-style courses for players of all skill levels. Price includes cart, greens fees, access to the driving range and range balls. Tee times are available after 10 a.m. each day. Tee times are expected to fill up fast. Reservations are recommended.

• The Red Ball: 5 p.m. Feb. 12. Cost is $50 per person.

The Buckeye Woman’s Club presents the second annual Red Ball, an evening of elegant dining, fine art and authentic mariachi music. The event raises funds for Tomorrow’s Winners, an empowerment program for female teens in the West Valley. For ticket information, contact Doris at 623-512-9725.

• The Wigwam Farmer’s Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 13. Free admission.

Each Sunday, the Wigwam front lawn transforms to an authentic farmer’s market for Valley residents and hotel guests alike, featuring Arizona’s finest farmers, growers and artisans. Taste fresh honey and preserves, buy fresh-picked produce or take home unique homemade pastas and local meats.

• Valentine’s Day Dinner at Red Allen’s: 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 14. Cost is $39 per person.

With views of The Wigwam golf courses and live music, Red Allen’s will offer a three-course menu starting with Maine lobster cake followed by lavender-marinated lamb and midnight chocolate cake.

• Valentine’s Day Dinner at Litchfield’s: 5:30 to 10 p.m. Feb. 14. Cost is $45 per person.

With a farm-to-table menu, live entertainment and a traditional candlelit dinner, Litchfield’s will feature four courses starting with fire-roasted, prosciutto-wrapped dates followed by seared scallops and Spanish chorizo. Enjoy the Rancher’s Duet with a Talus Wind Ranch lamb rack and Cedar River Farm petit filet for the main course and finish the evening with white chocolate raspberry mousse with a crème anglaise.

• Bed of Roses Package: Cost is $395 per night.

Pamper the special someone in your life with an evening of romance in one of The Wigwam’s historic suites. Begin your evening with a romantic candlelit dinner for two at Litchfield’s. While at dinner, The Wigwam’s Director of Roses will create a floral heart on your guestroom bed using rose petals picked fresh from among the 8,000 rose bushes that grow at The Wigwam, along with homemade truffles bedside. Sleep in and enjoy breakfast in bed the next morning.
