In recognition of National Stroke Awareness Month, Chandler Regional Medical Center is introducing a free, online assessment for members of the community to learn if they’re at risk for stroke.

Stroke affects an estimated 795,000 people annually, and is a leading cause of serious, long-term disability in adults. As the fourth leading causing of death in the United States, stroke affects people of all ages, including children.

It is also important to know the factors that put you at risk, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, tobacco use and smoking, alcohol consumption, physical inactivity and obesity. Important risk factors you cannot control include age, gender, race, family history or having suffered from a previous stroke.

Visit www.StrokeAwareTest.com to take the free online assessment or call (480) 728-3639 to schedule an in-person consultation.
