Children's Lives Include Moments of Bravery (CLIMB), a special support group for children ages 6 to 12, was developed by the Children's Treehouse Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to providing emotional support for children who have a primary caregiver with cancer.

The CLIMB support group offers six weekly two-hour meetings, during which conversation and expressive arts are used to help provide emotional release, relaxation and peace to each child.

Children bond very quickly with other children going through a similar experience. They learn that being sad, frightened and even angry is a part of this family trial. The support group helps children to moderate their feelings without feeling overwhelmed. Primary caregivers will also have the opportunity to attend a separate support group simultaneously. Together in a nurturing environment they will learn ways to promote healthy communication within their family.

The group will meet on Tuesdays for six consecutive weeks through May 17, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (light dinner is served prior to each session) at Chandler Regional Medical Center, Cancer Center in the Morrison Building, 1875 W. Frey Road in Chandler. The cost is free.
