Chef Eugenia Theodosopoulos combines organic pumpkin, brown sugar and European butter with freshly ground nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger to create a creamy pumpkin filling, which is sandwiched between a dense, chewy, delicately flavored orange-spice macaron. Small macarons are $1.40 each; large ones are $3.25 each. Boxes of 12 ($16.80) or 24 ($33.60) small macarons are also available.

Cinnamon- and nutmeg-spiced corn masa envelopes a mixture of pumpkin and raw sugar in these tamales made only October through December.
The Tamale Store sells them at its Phoenix storefront, but you can get the sweet, vegan creations every Thursday at the Downtown Chandler Farmer’s Market (3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, 3 S. Arizona Ave.) and each Friday at the Mesa Community Farmer’s Market (9 a.m. to noon at Rendezvous Green, 260 N. Center St.). Warm samples and frozen take-home batches are available at each market, while they last, but the shop recommends calling two days ahead, and they’ll bring your order for pickup. Get two 8-ounce tamales for $5, a half dozen for $14 or a dozen for $26.

Starting the middle of next week, this local shop rolls out its pumpkin cake pops — moist bits of cake speared on a lollipop stick and covered with toppings like white chocolate ganache and nuts or sprinkles. Honey Moon’s bakers recommend calling each morning to see what pumpkin offerings are available, as they also make whoopie pies, tea breads, mousse towers and pies in the signature fall flavor. Large orders should be placed at least a day or two ahead of time. Cake pops are $2 a piece.
