Cabela’s, the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, offers two series of outdoor-related activities that are perfect for families and scout troops.
All events are at the store, are free and require no previous skill or experience. The classes are for ages 9 – 14.
The Monday night lineup for Cabela’s Kid’s Kamp, which runs from 7 to 7:45 p.m., includes:

June 13: Gun Safety
June 20: Dangerous Animals, Insects, Spiders
June 27: Intro to Camping/Backpacking Food
JULY 4: NO CLASS – INDEPENDENCE DAY (close at 6 p.m.)
July 11: Hiking & Trail Safety 202
July 18: Kids Geology
July 25: Wilderness Survival
August 1: Casting for Kiddos (including Fly Casting)
August 8: Intro to Shotguns/Skeet
August 15: Gun Safety
August 22: Metal Detectors/Gold Panning
August 29: Dutch Oven Cooking
SCOUT BADGE WORKSHOPS
Every other weekend, Cabela’s is helping Scouts with skills to complete badges and learn new skills. Scout Badge Workshops, which meet the first and third Saturday of every month through August, is perfect for kids age 9 – 14. Class meets inside the store at the base of the Mountain at 11 a.m.
Scout Workshops include:

July 2: Fish & Wildlife Conservation
July 16: Rifle Shooting
August 6: Fishing & Fly Fishing
August 20: Archery
Even if you don’t have a Scout in your family or badge in your future, these classes are perfect for all young people ready to get outdoors. Class size is limited to the first 15 who sign up on event day. Classes are taught by Cabela’s Outfitters.
