The Deer Valley High School Skyhawk Players will present the Cole Porter musical “Anything Goes,” for four performances, March 3, 4, 10 and 11.

All shows start at 7 p.m. and will be staged in the Performing Arts Building on Deer Valley High School campus, 18424 N. 51st Ave., Glendale.

The story takes place during the 1930s aboard the cruise ship “The American.” This show is wrapped around one of Porter’s magical scores with songs such as “It’s De-Lovely,” “Friendship,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “All Through the Night,” “Anything Goes,” “You’re the Top,” and “Blow, Gabriel, Blow.”

When Billy Crocker boards the ship to drop off his boss Elijah Whitney’s passport, he finds out that his long-lost love, Hope, is a passenger and is to be married. Billy is determined to woo her back, but without a ticket and a passport, what can he do? As Billy tries to find Hope before the ship leaves the dock, he inadvertently identifies Minister Dobson as Moonface Martin, a gangster and Public Enemy No. 13. Moonface and his friend Bonnie are indebted to Billy, and thank him by giving him their friend’s unused ticket and room. The problem is that their friend who didn’t make it on board is Snake Eyes Johnson, Public Enemy No. 1, and wanted by the FBI. Billy is mistaken for Snake Eyes and must disguise himself for the rest of the trip in order to stay out of jail. Billy’s old friend Reno Sweeney, a sexy evangelist turned nightclub singer, plans to travel on the same boat. She is intrigued by Hope’s fiance and agrees to try to woo him away from Hope for her old friend, Billy.

Tickets are $8 at the door. Seniors ages 65 and older are $6, and children ages 10 and under are $5. Tickets purchased before the show are a dollar less than at the door. Tickets can be purchased during school hours and immediately after school in the campus bookstore. Unsold tickets will be available for purchase 45 minutes before the show.
