You can hear some good ol’ down home music in Gilbert this weekend.

“One Great Night of Folk Music,” with Arizona music legend and banjo master Joe Bethancourt, Jim Pipkin and Linda Bilque, takes place 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1. This marks the fifth year these performers have joined forces to give audiences a night to remember.

Red Molly will perform 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2. With the band’s new CD, “Light in the Sky,” Red Molly’s been praised as having “tick-tight arrangements, crystalline vocals and caramel harmonies.” The group’s songs have made the Top 15 on the Americana Chart, and “James” spent four months on the Top 40.

Higley Center for the Performing Arts is at 4132 E. Pecos Road. For information or tickets, call (480) 279-7194 or visit
