A new teacher appreciation program was created by Ahwatukee's husband and wife law team, Mark and Alexis Breyer, to recognize Arizona teachers for the great job they do.

Every month, one lucky teacher is awarded a $250 gift certificate for office supplies for their classroom. All Arizona teachers who teach elementary school, middle school, and high school have eligibility to win the contest.

Coach Rachel Proudfoot of Desert Vista High School is the second winner.

She has been known to dedicate not only much of her personal time, unpaid, through numerous practices, but also challenges her athletes by helping with college team research and hosting bi-weekly team pancake breakfasts out of her own pocket.
