After several mid-life career changes, the son of a Sun City West woman will appear on a Today Show segment with Jane Pauley next week.

Jan Rittmaster’s son, Rick Rittmaster, was interviewed by Pauley in early August for her Today Show segment “Your Life Calling,” sponsored by AARP, which highlights people over 50 who have reinvented their lives.

Rick Rittmaster was an Air Force navigator for several years before leaving the military to join the seminary, after which he worked in a church for seven years before returning to the military as a chaplain in the Army National Guard.

After a tour in Iraq and receiving the Bronze Medal of Honor, Rittmaster now helps military families adjust to life back in the United States at Fort Hood in Texas.

Pauley and Rittmaster’s interview will air as part of the Today Show on NBC Channel 12 between 8 and 10 a.m. Tuesday.
