One of the West Valley’s most popular restaurants will soon be giving back to the community in a big way, as Haus Murphy’s in downtown Glendale announced a fund-raising effort to begin this Father’s Day weekend.
Haus Murphy’s owners Brett and Rose Hoffmann said they will donate 10 percent of their gross sales beginning this weekend to benefit Operation Homefront-Arizona, with the goal of raising $10,000. Operation Homefront provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors in the local community.
The drive will continue through July 31.
Diners also can participate in a raffle for a variety of prizes including a full-course meal prepared by Sysco Foods Chef Michael Dahling. Many businesses in Downtown Glendale are contributing to the fund-raising effort by donating prizes for the raffle. Sysco Foods will also donate 1 percent of its sales to the cause. In addition, monetary donations will be accepted at Haus Murphy’s, 5739 W. Glendale Ave., or at the Glendale Visitor Center, 5800 W. Glenn Drive.
Haus Murphy’s is known for its award-winning German cuisine and its live entertainment Friday and Saturday nights. The restaurant is open from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, from 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
The charity drive will be capped off with a celebration at Haus Murphy’s beginning at 2 p.m. July 31, where guests can enjoy free soft drinks and other refreshments.
