The first question an orthopedic specialist often hears from a new patient is, “What do the X-rays show?” What the doctor wants to know is, “What happened that compelled you to seek help?”

Dr. Thomas Foerster, an orthopedic specialist with Banner Arizona Medical Clinic, will take questions from the audience about their orthopedic concerns in a free lecture at 1 p.m. Dec. 14 in the Community Education Room at Grandview Care Center, 14505 W. Granite Valley Drive in Sun City West. Grandview Care Center is in Building B next to Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center.

Orthopedics encompasses the entire musculoskeletal system, including shoulders, hands, ankles, feet, knees, hips and spine.

“I want to teach patients what they can do for themselves, as well as my doing the very best as a physician on their behalf,” Foerster said.

The seminar will include free refreshments. Seating is limited for this event, so call 602-230-CARE (230-2273) to reserve a seat.

Foerster has practiced in Sun City for 37 years, starting with an office across the street from Banner Boswell Medical Center. His medical experience is varied, serving residents of the Sun Cities and as a consultant to all age groups, including the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team for 17 years.
