You can help make people aware that cyclists have a legal right to public roadways by taking part in Wednesday's Ride of Silence, a worldwide event that honors cyclists injured or killed on streets and roads. The ride is free, and organizers ask cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph and to remain silent during the ride.
The ride begins at 6:30 p.m. at Mesa's Mountain View Park, 845 N. Lindsay Road, then to Gilbert's Freestone Park and back to Mesa. Information: www.rideofsilence.org/main.php.
