When El Palacio Restaurant & Cantina owner Anthony Serrano saw some of his customers eat ten to 15 tacos a piece during his regular $1 Taco Tuesday nights, he started wondering how many tacos a person could inhale in just one sitting.

To find out, El Palacio will host a taco-eating contest on Saturday, Feb. 16. The first 20 people to sign up will have five minutes to eat as many ground beef tacos as their stomachs can handle.

The winner will receive a trophy and $75 in cash, and the second place winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to El Palacio.

To compete in the contest, you will have to pay $10 and be one of the first 20 people to register. Sign-up begins on Feb. 1 at El Palacio, located at 2950 E. Germann Rd. in Chandler. Call (480) 802-5770 or visit EPChandler.com for more information.
