Thousands of adolescents across the country have been trained by Chandler Regional Medical Center's Safe Sitter. During this two-day course, adolescents age 11 through 13 will receive hands-on practice in basic life-saving techniques from trained Safe Sitter instructors, so they are prepared to respond to crisis situations.
In order to successfully complete the 12-hour medically accurate program, students must pass a practical and written test, showing that they have mastered the key concepts and have the skills necessary to handle emergencies.
All classes are Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Specific dates are June 11 and 18, July 23 and 30, Sept. 17 and 24. Cost is $60 for the two-day course with all supplies and lunch included.
