Jagger Hollister will host his first annual Alex's Lemonade Stand as part of the National Lemonade Days weekend June 10, from noon to 5 p.m. at Cactus Insurance Services, 7440 W. Cactus Road, Suite A-8, Peoria.
Jagger decided to host an Alex's Lemonade Stand because at age 4 he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After participating in a fundraiser at school to raise money for cancer, he decided he wanted to do more -- that's when he came across Alex's Lemonade Stand. This is the first year and many more to come.
Founded by Alex Scott (1996-2004) in 2004, Lemonade Days is a three day national event that grew out of Alex's front yard lemonade stand, and is held every year over the same June weekend. During Lemonade Days, dedicated volunteers host thousands of Alex's Lemonade Stands across the country, raising over $1 million for childhood cancer research in one weekend. June will mark the eighth annual Lemonade Days with an estimated 10,000 volunteers at more than 2,000 Alex's Lemonade Stands around the nation making a difference for children with cancer. Lemonade Days 2011 is set for June 10, 11 and 12.
