“If dozens of skilled teachers and administrators are suddenly bolting from the Gilbert Public Schools, parents are loudly protesting, the interim superintendent throws up his hands to quit early because these people can’t be helped, and if a forceful demand for your resignation is met with standing ovations and cheers from an overflowing board room, then it is time to take the high road. Step away from the dais, and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”

“To the venter on Sunday’s vent who wondered why our 2 local sheriffs weren’t called to help out in Russia at the Olympics, it should be obvious. They are too busy trying to keep the great State of Arizona free of illegals. In case the liberal do-gooders don’t realize it, illegal means you’re breaking the law. Keep up the good work Joe and Paul.”

“Response to the Feb. 14 marijuana Venter: I saw a pundit on a talk show say that drivers under the influence of marijuana tend to drive too slowly, rather than careening at breakneck speed through traffic like drunks. Yet, alcohol remains legal (because we tried making it illegal and that was an absolute disaster in so many ways). Cigarettes are legal too, and how many lives do they destroy slowly and painfully. Count me among those who want marijuana legal federally and heavily taxed, like alcohol and cigarettes.”

“I read where the NAACP held a march and rally to protest North Carolina’s law requiring photo ID to vote. One of the NAACP’s rules before you could march with them: bring a photo ID!”
