Olympic wrestling camp through May at DV

An Olympic Freestyle Wrestling Program is being offered through May by the Thunder Wrestling Program at Desert Vista High School.

The program is designed to teach boys and girls from kindergarten through high school the fundamentals of Olympic-style wrestling.

Double elimination tournaments are available every Saturday through May 19.

Instructors include David Gonzalez, head wrestling coach at Desert Vista; Adam Davis, Kenny Lopez and Jack Porter, wrestling coaches at Altadeña and Akimel A-al middle schools.

Novice freestyle wrestler workouts are from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and experienced freestyle wrestler workouts are from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. All sessions are in the Desert Vista wrestling room.
