canned beer

Beer fans can get a lift to this weekend’s big brew party.

Arizona Brewery Tours will run a shuttle May 18 to the Ameri-CAN Canned Craft Beer Festival at Scottsdale Civic Center Mall.

Dedicated to canned craft beer, the third annual festival is put on by Chandler’s SanTan Brewing Company and features about 200 beers — along with live entertainment, food vendors and “beer Olympics.” It is scheduled for noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The bus will depart at 11:05 a.m. from SanTan Brewing in dowtown Chandler. It will leave at 11:20 a.m. from Chandler’s Hungry Monk.

The $75 fee includes round-trip transportation, general admission to the festival, 20 drink tickets, access to the Arizona Brewery Tours’ Oasis Tent and private restroom, a 4-oz. tasting can, a commemorative t-shirt, and a one-year subscription to DRAFT Magazine. To book a seat on the bus, call (480) 382-4677 or visit AZbrew.com.

Festival admission — sans the bus package — starts at $25 and includes 20 beer samples. For information and tickets, go to CannedCraftBeerFest.com.
