Tempe has earned its reputation as a stable, high-energy, diverse community. We’ve worked hard to create and maintain an economy that is viable and sustainable. Our demographics are solid. Our businesses are diversified.

Tempe is a community committed to education, to technology and to an ongoing dialogue of new ideas. We are host to thousands of businesses, hundreds of technology companies, dozens of colleges and Arizona State University. Our community has been designated a national Inclusive City, as well as one of America’s 100 Best Communities for Youth. More languages are spoken in Tempe schools than in any other city in the state.

During your visit, we hope you will take the opportunity to explore what Tempe has to offer. In the heart of downtown, pedestrian-friendly Mill Avenue offers a variety of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. More than 150 special events happen each year, such as the P.F. Chang’s Rock n Roll Marathon, Ironman Arizona and the Fiesta Bowl Block Party. In our city, we attract nearly the same number of visitors to our community each day as we have residents. That’s nearly 6 million people a year.

On behalf of the City of Tempe, I want to invite you to our community so you can see for yourself why this is the best place to live, work, study and play.
