Have you ever wanted to see some of your favorite “Saturday Night Live” performers on stage? Well, “SNL” fans can now rejoice because Chandler Center for the Arts is hosting three veterans: Tim Meadows, Jon Lovitz and Chris Kattan, for a one-night comedy performance this Friday.
The trio has had successful careers, with Meadows being the longest running cast member on “SNL,” spanning more than 10 years bringing the unforgettable character Ladies Man and his impersonations of O.J. Simpson and Tiger Woods.
And for the younger crowd, Meadows has played Principal Duvall in “Mean Girls.”
Lovitz has also made his mark as an Emmy nominated comedian, while Kattan has given audiences funny movies like “Corky Romano” and “Night at the Roxbury.”
The idea was first thought of by Lovitz’s and Kattan’s agent to have the three hit the road performing in a variety of comedy clubs.
The three comedians will be taking the stage performing their own separate acts, giving fans of their comedy a night to remember.
Like most comedians, Meadows gets his material from everyday life situations like growing up in his hometown of Detroit, being divorced, and from what’s going in the news.
“The audience can expect to laugh if they are fans of the three of us, and if they like the different types of comedy that we perform,” Meadows said.
During the show, Meadows said he introduces himself to the audience and tells them they are going to get to know him a little bit better after his stand-up performance.
Being that he’s been doing comedy for many years, Meadows does not get nervous on stage, only when he’s trying out new material.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. Friday, March 1 show are $45, $55 and $65. They are still on sale in person at Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N Arizona Ave., by calling (480) 782-2680, or online at http://www.chandlercenter.org/performances/box-office.html.
