Wyndsong Designs at MACFest in Mesa

Wyndsong Designs, an exhibitor at the April 6 and April 20 MACFests in downtown Mesa, is owned and operated by Karin “Kai” Sullivan. She has been a Master Beader, with a focus on spiritual semi-precious wearable art, for more than 30 years. Recently, Kai discovered polymer clay.

She creates one-of-a-kind works of art for the home, heart and spirit, including switch plate covers. Her line of Fairie Portals are an eclectic mix of color and design.

She also employs recycling in her work.

“I can upcycle virtually anything, add my blend of polymer clay millefiori canes and free-hand filigree, and it becomes art. I love what I do, and how a piece takes shape. I enjoy creating custom pieces. It allows me to provide something quite special for the recipient, a piece of art with their heart and soul in mind,” Kai said.

All of her work is created, one piece at a time, in her small Mesa studio/home.

According to Kai, “Polymer clay is an exciting and limitless medium, with an abundance of color and movement.”

Her designs are a blend of many polymer techniques, from millefiori to sculptural. She also utilizes techniques in rubber stamping and painting in her works.

Her work is enjoyed in homes across the USA and Internationally.

MACFest is a free event featuring unique artist creations, music and fun for the whole family. The 2012--2013 season events will be held on the first and third Saturdays of each month, October through April.

Artists & crafters desiring to exhibit their own work at MACFest may contact the Mesa Arts Center Box Office at 1 East Main St. or phone: 480-644-6500.  Online registration and space rental: http://www.macfestmesa.com
