Arizona's Independent Redistricting Commission is hosting hearings around the state in October and early November so that the public can critique the panel's draft congressional and legislative district maps.
The 26 sessions over 22 days began Oct. 11 in Phoenix and conclude Nov. 5 in Green Valley.
East Valley residents will get their chance 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Chandler City Hall in the Council chambers, 175 S. Arizona Ave.
Nearby, other opportunities include 6 p.m. Nov. 1 at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, 6 p.m. Nov. 2 in the Peoria city Council chambers and 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at Scottsdale's Granite Reef Senior Center.
This is the commission's second set of public hearings. In late July and early August, before drafting maps, commissioners and staff toured the state to get a broad picture of what Arizonans wanted from redistricting.
