Goodwill sets up job fair in Surprise

With unemployment rates still above 9 percent, finding work can be tough for many Valley residents." href= "">" href= "">Goodwill of Central Arizona is hoping to help hundreds of job seekers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 29 during a Job Fair at the City of Surprise Civic Center, 15950 W. Civic Center Plaza.

Companies like Santé, Adult Assistance Homecare, Sheitelman Chiropractic and Adelante will be recruiting for more than 100 positions in the health-care industry. 

In addition, Chick-fil-A, Royal Oaks, Wal-Mart, JC Grason of AZ, Arizona Republic, Am Trust Bank, Signal 88 Security and RioGlass Solar Inc. will be recruiting for more than 300 positions. 

“Attending a job fair is a great way for job seekers to connect with potential employers,” said Yolanda Carrothers, vice president, workforce development at Goodwill.  “We only bring in employers who are truly hiring and have positions open. Goodwill also offers classes to prepare for an interview, improve your resume writing skills and much more.”

Communiversity at Surprise and The Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce are also co-hosts of the Job Fair.
