Arlene Cummings is the 2011 Vintage Excellence Volunteer of the Year. Ahwatukee Foothills Rotary president Rick DePonte surprised Cummings with the award in front of approximately 50 seniors attending bingo and lunch at the Pecos Senior Center on June 8.

Cummings was nominated for the award by the Pecos Senior Center because she is a selfless, consistent volunteer who helps staff and seniors. Cummings is known for her smile and positive attitude. In addition to her time, Cummings donates coffee and tea to the center.

Each year the Ahwatukee Foothills Rotary Club recognizes an extraordinary person who freely and outstandingly gives for the benefit of others and exemplifies the ideals of Rotary Service leadership, volunteerism, encouraging high ethical standards, friendship and promoting good will and peace. Vintage Excellence is a Rotary program that supports and recognizes Ahwatukee seniors.
