'Dine in the Dark' to benefit blind children's charity

Monti’s La Casa Vieja will host Dining in the Dark 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. April 11 to benefit Foundation for Blind Children, a Valley resource for families and children dealing with blindness or low vision.

As guests enter the restaurant that night, they will be blindfolded and led by Foundation for Blind Children clients to their seats. They will remain blindfolded throughout their meal.

“The best way to understand a blind person’s experience is to put yourself in their shoes,” said FBC director Marc Ashton in a release. “Dining in the Dark will certainly do that and more. We hope people will come away transformed.”

Space is limited to 100 diners, and tickets cost $65 each. A portion of the proceeds will go to Foundation for Blind Children.
