5K run

The Alport Syndrome Foundation will host the Arizona 5K for Healthy Kidneys at Kiwanis Community Park on March 30.

Hundreds of people will gather to walk and run in support of Alport Syndrome patients and the search for a cure.

The foundation is working to raise awareness of Alport Syndrome – a hereditary kidney disease that leaves patients with end-stage renal failure, hearing loss and vision problems.

There are no approved treatments for the disease and the foundation is working with San Diego-based biotech Regulus Therapeutics to drive research.
