Kevin Cron knows it isn't going to happen and that is half the battle right there.

After tying the state record for home runs last season with 22, Cron is being pitched very carefully in the early going of the baseball season.

He has already received a handful of intentional walks, something Cron hasn't allowed to frustrate him.

"It is a lot different spectrum because I am seeing a lot of pitches out of the zone," he said. "I had to sharpen my pitch selection. If I am swinging at some of the pitches they are throwing I am not going to have success."

The big catcher might find his home run groove at some point, but until then he just wants to make the most of the chances he does receive.

"They are not going to just lay it up there so I have to go up to the plate with a better approach of what I want to do rather than just see it and hit," he said. "That's not going to happen (22 home runs) so I have to capitalize on the pitches I do see."
