The Sun City West Fire District will conduct a blood drive later this month.

The United Blood Services bloodmobile will be available between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 in the back parking lot of Fire Station 101, 19001 Camino del Sol.

During January, donors will receive a free ticket voucher to attend the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The voucher can be redeemed at the main gate for a one-day pass to the PGA Tour stop at the TPC Scottsdale, scheduled Jan. 31 through Feb. 6.

Arizona hospital patients typically require more blood transfusions in January than any other month of the year.

The decline in donations during the holiday season, coupled with the winter increase in the state’s population, creates the  need for additional blood donors.

Prospective donors should bring a photo ID and donor card.

For information on eligibility, call 623-215-1058 or visit www.BloodHero.com (sponsor code: SunCityWestFD).
