Two planes collided south of Chandler Friday afternoon.

Ian Gregor with the Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot of a Piper PA28 reported colliding in mid-air with another aircraft he identified as a Piper Cherokee around 2 p.m. about 12 miles southwest of Chandler Municipal Airport.

The Piper PA28 landed safely at Gila River Memorial Airport, according to Gregor.

The other aircraft reportedly landed safely at a vehicle test track.

Gregor said both planes reportedly sustained significant damage.

Air15 video showed damage to the wings of the planes.

No injuries were reported.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the accident.
