Chandler resident Beverly Kruse of Chandler has been named executive director of the Phoenix affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a foundation devoted to fighting breast cancer.

Kruse, who had been interim executive director since late 2010, is responsible for the overall operation of the affiliate, including representing the organization on various committees and events, policy development and administration, and oversight of financial and personnel resources.

Kruse was executive director of Komen’s southern Arizona affiliate for six years. She has also served in several volunteer positions with Komen, including as a member of the board of directors, and as a race chair and a committee volunteer for the Komen Southern Arizona Race for the Cure.
