The Tempe Police Department and several local schools collected nearly 10,000 pounds of food for a local animal shelter. The shelter, Lost Our Home, has worked with the department to provide a shelter for animals that have been abandoned, abused or injured.

Within the collection, the Tempe Union High School district garnered nearly 7,000 pounds of food, and the Tempe Police and Courts collected 3,000 pounds.

Anyone interested in supporting the shelter or learning more can visit www.lostourhome.org.
