Surprise, you're under arrest.

Rachel Davila, 42, and Roger Stevens, 31, were both arrested Sunday night as they departed the front door of an Ahwatukee Foothills home the pair allegedly were robbing and walked straight into police.

"Apparently they didn't know police were outside," said Sgt. Mike Todd, a Phoenix Police Department spokesman. "They were surprised and taken into custody."

It happened around 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9 off Desert Foothills Parkway near the southern edge of South Mountain Park - after a neighbor, who knew the owner was away, called police to report people in the home, Todd said.

Davila and Stevens, both of whom are Phoenix residents, have been charged with felony second degree burglary, Todd said.
