Desert Vista AD Bell leaving for position at Corona
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Jim Bell, athletic director and assistant principal at Desert Vista, is leaving for a similar job at Corona del Sol High School, DV principal Anna Battle said Friday night.
Bell will begin his new job Monday, Battle said.
Battle said the search for his replacement would begin shortly, and added that in the mean time, herself and assistant principals Christine Barela and T.J. Snyder would handle athletics.
Bell didn't immediately return phone messages.
The football and boys basketball programs both went to their respective state championship games last season, with the boys basketball team winning the first title in its history. Boys track and field also repeated as national champions, as well as state champions.
The program as a whole won the AIA's Earl McCullar award for 2008, given to the state's top athletic program, the second time in three years it had done so.
