What started as a routine traffic stop on Interstate 10 Friday morning turned into the arrest of seven suspected illegal immigrants.

According to Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ann FitzGerald, a DPS officer saw the suspect SUV around 6:51 a.m. traveling west on I-10 and pulled the vehicle over at Warner Road near 48th Street.

Inside the officer found seven men who were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

No one was injured and ICE officials are investigating the incident to determine if anyone will be charged with human smuggling.
