Buyer emerges for Tribune; AFN not part of proposed sale

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Ahwatukee Foothills News

Freedom Communications has received a letter of intent to purchase the East Valley Tribune and keep the newspaper and Web site operating.

Freedom, which is operating under Chapter 11 of the Federal Bankruptcy Code, will seek approval from a bankruptcy judge to complete the sale to an undisclosed buyer by the end of this year.

The potential sale of the Tribune will not affect the Ahwatukee Foothills News or its Web site, which will continue to publish and remain part of Freedom Communications.
