ahwatukee.com

The man who robs local sandwich shops and small businesses using a sawed-off shotgun struck again Monday night, his fifth or sixth robbery in the Ahwatukee Foothills area in the past month.

Police say the man, dressed in black, robbed Papa John's restaurant at 43rd Street and Ray Road just before 10 p.m.

No one was injured in that robbery.

Police suspect that the Papa John's robber is the same man who has stuck up sandwich shops in Ahwatukee Foothills and three businesses in Tempe in the last month.

The man is described as a white male, under six feet tall, heavyset with a pot belly. Witnesses say he dresses in black pants and shirt, wears dark glasses and a black beanie.

The man is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStop at (602) 262-6151 or 9-1-1.

Healthcare reform
In a final push for a sweeping healthcare overhaul, President Barack Obama urged a simple "up-or-down" vote on the legislation. What would your vote be?
Up! Let's get this thing passed already!
The proposals look good on paper, but I'm still hesitant about its execution.
Down. It's time to go back to the drawing board.
