Last weekend for freeway work

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Freeway congestion continues this weekend with westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to just one lane from Queen Creek Road to the Santan Loop 202 interchange and Ray Road.

The traffic restriction is to allow crews to finish installing rubberized asphalt and runs from at 11 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Monday.

Along with I-10 being narrowed to one lane, westbound traffic will be detoured away from the Loop 202 and Pecos Road ramps.

Through traffic will have the option to exit I-10 at Riggs Road, travel east to Alma School Road and then north to Loop 202 to return to I-10 and downtown Phoenix.

To access Wild Horse Pass Casino the Arizona Department of Transportation recommends traveling south on 56th Street to Wild Horse Pass Boulevard.

Local traffic heading to downtown Phoenix can enter the freeway at Warner or Elliot roads.

According to ADOT, this should be the last rubberized asphalt project in the Ahwatukee Foothills area for the foreseeable future.

For more information on this, or any other construction detours, visit www.az511.gov or call 511.

WHO Cares About Swine Flu
The World Health Organization has declared its first influenza pandemic in 40 years. Does this concern you?
I'm stocking up on hand sanitizer and Theraflu as we speak.
I'm not that concerned. Swine flu doesn't seem much more deadly than the regular flu.
Is swine flu still a thing?
