AFN newsroom receives 13 awards at journalism banquet

As one of the big winners of the evening, Clinard won seven awards, including another first-place for layout and design that appeared in the newsroom's sister publication, Ocotillo Tribune, as well as a second, two thirds and two honorable mentions for his photography skills in the AFN and sister paper.
Other staffers recognized included:
- Ryan Casey, who covers sports for the Ahwatukee Foothills News, received a second- and third-place award for his work.
- Jason Ludwig, former reporter for the Ahwatukee Foothills News, received a first-place award for his education coverage and a third-place award for a lifestyles article.
- U. Frank Williams Jr., former photo editor of the Ahwatukee Foothills News, received a second-place award for his news photography.
- Brett Fera, sports editor, received a first-place award for his sports reporting in the Maricopa Tribune.
Of the 13 awards presented to the newsroom, seven, including two first-place awards, were for articles or photographs that appeared in the Ahwatukee Foothills News.
