Many businesses closed this Friday
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Government offices and many business, including the Ahwatukee Foothills News, will be closed Friday and Saturday in honor of Independence Day.
Almost all post offices, including the two branches in Ahwatukee Foothills, will close at noon on Friday, July 3, but access to the post office boxes and stamp vending machines will be available Friday and Saturday as usual.
Banks and financial institutions will be open on Friday, but closed on Saturday, although ATM machines will be humming along as usual all weekend, or until they run out of cash.
Public transit, including ALEX, which services Ahwatukee Foothills, will operate July 4 using the abbreviated Sunday schedule.
Light rail will operate until 2 a.m. July 5 to give fireworks fans an opportunity to ride the rails to either Tempe Town Lake or Steele Indian School Park to watch the displays Saturday night.
Emergency services, including police, fire and hospital emergency rooms will operate as usual over the weekend.
