Crash ends in 11 illegal immigrants in custody

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A minor accident Tuesday morning resulted in the detention of 11 immigrants after the van they were traveling in rear-ended a Homeland Security Chevy Suburban.

“It wasn’t their day,” said an unidentified Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.

According to Department of Public Safety officer D. Young, the crash occurred on Interstate 10 near the Elliot Road off ramp where the heavily loaded Chevy Town and Country van was traveling west. A total of four vehicles received minor damage in the chain reaction crash, but no one was injured said Young.

Additional Homeland Security and ICE agents quickly responded to the scene and took the 11 passengers in the van into custody.
