Q: Where are you from and what did you do before opening your business?

A: I am from upstate New York (Troy), where I attended culinary school and owned and operated several restaurants and a night club. I transferred to Chandler as managing partner of Buca di Beppo where I spent the past eight years.

Q: Why did you open your business in this community?

A: I have a sincere love for our community and its great people. When leaving corporate dining I wanted to open a local restaurant that would go above and beyond mere dining to offer our neighbors a comfortable experience that corporations simply won't.

Q: How did you get the idea to open your business?

A: With the overwhelming support of friends and family and the need in this area for a locally owned restaurant to stand against big corporate chains and their inability to effectively care for guests as people, not just as another dollar sign. I knew this was an idea that community members would become "Fired Up" about. And we just so happened to be personal friends with the great young Chef Rocky Dunnam, who was willing to jump on board!

Q: What type of merchandise/services do you sell?

A: Our restaurant is a blend of New American cuisine ranging from classical Italian dishes to steak and seafood entrees with regional and worldly flare. I am really excited about the fact that our chefs can and will be creative and innovative in their cuisine. Having several educated culinary chefs collaborating on a daily basis to produce features, try new recipes and gain feedback from our guests on their own unique creations is something special. Our lunches are based upon a "bistro" in that we serve alcohol with a lunch menu of standard American fare like burgers, sandwiches and wraps.

Q: What does your business have in store for the future?

A: One main goal is to provide a comfortable place for guests to enjoy fine cuisine, wine and cocktails. We will be making comfortable changes to our beautiful patio, continue live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, and we will begin opening for brunch on Sunday in the near future.

Q: Anything else you want the community to know about you or your business?

A: In a world dominated by corporations the ideals of true service and of guest loyalty seems to get lost in the paperwork on its way up the corporate ladder. Fired Up Grill is and will always be locally owned and operated to ensure our guests are welcomed as family. We take great pride in supporting our community and its causes, like Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Susan G. Komen 3-Day, and local schools and organizations.
